FIRST LOOK

As a novel way of engaging with new and up and coming sitcom writers we've established an interactive submission system whereby registered writers get a chance to learn about, read and evaluate scripts by peer writers.  Both writers and readers are anonymous. The prerequisite for getting our Comedy Development Team's undivided attention to your own script(s) you must first deliver to us quality reports on three scripts by other writers, and equally obtain feedback from three other writers in conjunction with a scoring system which will flag up the rough-cut diamonds.

Please go to FIRST LOOK for more details.

DAN AND DAN

ScreenPlay have teamed up with self-imitating performing artist Dan Hawthorn to develop a unique show based on his popular YouTube characters.  Writer duo Parnham & Leachman and Mike Booth (SomeGreyBloke) will develop scripts for a pre-Christmas stage show to test the feasibility of this highly unusual concept.

Children's' scripted comedy

We want to experiment with children's' scripted comedy for CBBC.  Writers with original sitcom ideas for the 7-12 years age group - or interested in working for an audience mostly served non-scripted studio comedy/slapstick, can contact us via email:

childrens.comedy@screenplayproductions.ltd.uk

It might be a good idea if you have good knowledge of children of that specific age, or have a very childish mindset yourself.

The Broadcasters ask us to do Radio too.

We're looking to team up with a number of experienced radio production freelancers, who will be interested in working with some of our up-and-coming comedy writers.

Initially, we're aiming at getting supplier status, and next, to get the best of the scripts ready for submission. So, if you're a veteran or just keen to work with new faces, give us a shout, and we'll take it from there.
